I ended up getting a lot of deisel mechanic work to do and quickly gathered the cash i needed to do the "stage 3" port and polish work and valve guide and seat work. the gears are pressed on the cam, that is why i was debating whether or not to wait on my cam installation due to budget and due to the extensive difference in time it takes to install cams on a romeo 4.6 and a windsor 4.6. and in response to a previous question "do i even understand what pressed cams means?", yes i do. PS: its a fully built romeo block with windsor components and windsor heads. new cam gears would have to be purchased and the cams could easily be installed and timed after installing the new springs.Īm i correct or is there an easier way to put a set of cams in my motor? if i am right, the motor on the 1999-2000 would have to be supported and the pulleys and power steering pump would have to come off, as well as the oil pan for the timing cover to come off just to loosen the tensioners for the chain to come off of the cams. the only problem that i thought might could occur would be that if the 1999-2000 windsor mustangs have pressed fit cams, it would cause an issue in the process getting the timing chain off, compared to the 2001-2004 romeo motors that have the bolt on cam gears. i had a question that concerned whether or not i could swap them with the motor IN THE CAR and have no problems with the tool to hold the valves while changing springs. I am aware that i can swap the cams in the car on the 4.6 2v mustangs as well as the 3v and the 4v.
